Sean Astin born as Sean Patrick Duke on February 25th, 1971 in Santa Monica, California is a magnificent Hollywood actor, director and Oscar nominated producer.
Sean Astin was born to actress Patty Duke and music promoter and writer Michael Tell. Soon the couple got divorced and Patty Duke married actor John Astin. Sean Astin has graduated with honors in History and English and took his BA degree from UCLA.
Sean Astin began his movie career with "The Goonies" in 1985 and has since appeared in several movies. He has also acted in television series in which he had recurring roles like in "Jeremiah" {15 episodes: 2003-2004} and "24" {10 episodes: 2006}. Sean Astin has rendered brilliant performances in "Staying Together" {1989}, "Toy Soldiers" {1991}, "Rudy" {1993}, "Boy Meets Girl" {1998}, "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy {2001-2003}, "Thanks to Gravity" {2006}, "My Wife Is Retarded" {2007} and many other movies. His performances have been highly acclaimed by the critics. Sean Astin has also directed and co-produced with his wife Christine a short film, "Kangaroo Court" which earned Academy Awards nomination.
Sean Astin has married the 1984 Miss Indiana Teen USA, Christine Harrell on July 11th, 1992. They together have three daughters named Alexandra born November 1996, Elizabeth born August 2002, and Isabella born July 2005.
